Sydney Kincart

She/Her/Hers

Hi! I’m Sydney and my all-time favorite word is "moxie." I realized that posting photo dumps on my finsta, occasionally with well-thought-out captions, and my semesterly lists breaking down each month’s activities that fill the pages of my journal may not be the most effective nor thought provoking way to document my life. So here I am, trying something new. My academic and extracurricular interests are writing heavy, but I seldom write for myself. So that’s what this is.

I’m currently a political science major at the University of Utah and double minoring in disability studies in campaign management. While at the U, I’ve been involved with our student newspaper, the political journal, our political institute on campus, Greek life, and our community engagement center.

I love to travel, whether it be a day trip to NYC for a show or a semester across the country. I’m a pensive (read: stress) baker and learning to love cooking. I’m a lover of fashion —namely of the preppy, costal grandmother, grand millennial, and classic varieties. Although you might occasionally see me read something incredibly thought provoking, I typically save that for school. I love a good new adult/YA fiction or romance book. I’m a regular $5 movie attendee and Utah soda shop customer.

I have an affinity for walks at the Capitol and the works of Aaron Sorkin, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Greta Gerwig, Mindy Kaling, John Green, Sally Rooney, and Emily Henry. I’m a near perfect match to Molly from “Booksmart” and think Amy March haters fail to understand the importance of her character. I listen to a little too much Lucy Dacus, Lorde, Taylor Swift, and old Disney Channel music.

My favorite stories and artists might lead you to believe I’m a bit anxious and burned out—which is entirely true. I hope you enjoy the blog, but I’m most of all, I hope that this blog helps me find my moxie again.
